DRJV Invitation to the Conference “Current Issues on Russian Intellectual Property Law

17.04.2013

followed by the DRJV members' meeting from 18.00 hrs.

The German-Russian Bar Association e.V. will hold a meeting on Wednesday, 17.04.2013 from 2 p.m. to approx. 17.30 (followed by a meeting of the DRJV members from 18.00) at the Foundation for World Science / University of Hamburg Guesthouse, Rothenbaumchaussee 34, 20148 Hamburg, conference room, on this topic:

Current issues in Russian intellectual property law.

Russia is our most important economic partner in Eastern Europe; in 2012, foreign trade reached a new record level. However, Russian intellectual property law does not have a good reputation. In particular, there have sometimes been problems in the past with securing investors’ rights.
The Russian government has responded to this. In 2008, a new fourth part of the Civil Code came into force. A special court for the protection of industrial property will start work in 2013. Further adjustments are linked to accession to the WTO.

For German companies, many questions about the protection of industrial property arise even before the WTO enters into force. High-ranking experts from both countries will shed light on topical issues from a theoretical and practical point of view during the conference, and will be available for discussion.

The event is recognised as a continuing education event in the field of intellectual property law within the meaning of § 15 of the FAO (for 3 hours).

A fee will be charged for participation in the conference. It is € 25.00 for DRJV members and € 125.00 for guests. A discount for students is available on request.

Registration (by mail: info@drjv.org, by fax: 040 / 38 999 333 or online at www.drjv.org) is required for all participants.
