DRJV ANNUAL CONFERENCE

11.06.2015 (13:30 - 19:15)

Frankfurt

The German-Russian Lawyers’ Association e.V. will be holding

on Thursday,11.06.2015 from 13.30 to 19.15 hrs.

on the premises of the VTB Bank (Deutschland) AG
(Rüsterstraße 7-9, 60325 Frankfurt/Main) its

Annual Conference 2015: “Current Issues in German-Russian Legal Transactions”.

Unfortunately, the political estrangement between Russia and Germany and the EU states, which was already regretted at the DRJV Annual Conference 2014, has further intensified. However, this should not displace the focus on other (legal) issues in the bilateral relationship. The DRJV sees itself as a forum for exchange between lawyers from both countries.

Therefore, the DRJV will again organise an annual conference on current issues of German-Russian legal relations in 2015. As last year, renowned experts, mostly from the ranks of the DRJV, will present current developments in commercial law and other areas of law. They will outline the latest legislative changes as well as important case law, give an outlook on further developments and share experiences from recent practice.

The annual conference and the subsequent celebratory dinner with an exciting keynote address will also provide a space for the exchange of views and networking among members and interested parties.

About the programme:

Mr Michael Harms, Chairman of the Board of the German-Russian Chamber of Commerce Abroad in Moscow, has kindly agreed to give an introductory lecture on Russia’s economic framework conditions and prospects.

Professor Dr Andreas Steininger from the Ostinstitut in Wismar will present an overview of legal developments in Russia in 2014/15.

The individual forums will be devoted to the following topics:

– current developments in Russian civil law (general law of obligations and contract drafting);

– the current reform of Russian company law;

– Compliance in Eastern European business – current issues;

– Import substitution and new industrial policy: new requirements in localisation;

– New regulations in labour and aliens law;

– Current Issues in Russian Family Law;

– Tax developments in times of crisis;

– Dispute resolution in business transactions with Russia.

We are looking forward to first-class and experienced speakers from Germany and Russia. The detailed programme is available below.

The conference fee is € 40.00 for members and € 110.00 for guests. A reduction to € 20.00 is possible for students/referees on application. The price for the dinner is to be paid by each participant.

Registration is required for the conference and/or the dinner (Mail: info@drjv.org, Fax: 040 / 38 999 333) – see registration form on the last page of the attached programme in pdf. format.
